Anastasia Cream features an earthy cream body highlighted with a bold, embossed pattern reminiscent of a hammered design on metal. Crafted of Stoneware, featuring a reactive glaze. Due to the nature and hand-crafted qualities of reactive glaze, no two pieces are exactly alike and will exhibit unique variations in color and pattern. Product may slightly differ from image shown. 16 piece dinnerware set, service for four, includes (4) each: 11-1/4 inch dinner plate, 8-1/2 inch salad plate, 6 inch diameter (24 ounce) soup bowl and 13 ounce mug. "on the 8 and 11 inch plates, there is a great degree of variation in the plate colorations. Drastically different on the 8 inch plate. Most 8 inch have a light center but many have a pronounced brown tone as shown. The 11 inch plate have coloration differences around the rim and within the plate center but aren't as pronounced as the 8 inch plates The shade differences suggest that Gourmet Basics are basic and rather low end. I hope they wear well."

"We bought service for 8 of Anastasia Cream set. We had a previous Mikasa set that lasted for decades. But this one: 1) The plates of the same type don't nest together. While some variance in shape is acceptable, these seemed like seconds that just do not stack well; 2) the pattern is nice but all the little indents trap small particles of food making it difficult to get them really clean; 3) one of the salad plates changes color, the glaze got darker unevenly (there was no misuse to cause it). Our prior Mikasa set was first rate, this one was disappointing. We don't feel we got quality product but rejects."

I was going to call and see how to get it replaced, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. I read another review from someone who had the same flaws."
