I received your flatware set,

"I received your flatware set, and it was perfect. I have the identical set, but I was missing pieces. This is great, I now have a complete set plus"

Sloppy Craftsmanship - Massive Drop in Quality

"I bought my first 20 piece set from Costco and it was pretty well made. At the time I didn't realize they carried two different styles and by the time I unboxed them and realized the mismatched set, Costco was sold out of the Rockford. So I decided to buy a set off Amazon even though it was more expensive because I liked the design. Unfortunately in this time period, they switched manufacturers and moved from Vietnam to China, while also changing the steel from 18/10 to 18/0. The design itself actually changed, and I noticed it when first putting the set in my drawer as they didn't stack correctly; the angle of the handle is completely different. So I contacted Mikasa and they sent me a new set so I could have one that matched. However, I noticed immediately this set from Mikasa had huge manufacturing defects. The tines from fork to fork were uneven, bent, and different sizes (is the left outside time would be twice the width of the right, or vise versa). The ends were roughly cut, with some coming to a needle sharp point, and others with mangled tips and heat discoloration. There was pitting on the handle of nearly every single piece, and very obvious marks where someone tried to buff out the imperfections. Also how the end of the handle was angled seems to be eyeballed and hand ground, as the angle is inconsistent and sloppy from piece to piece, with no two looking remotely the same. I inspected my previous Chinese set and while the quality wasn't as bad, I noticed many imperfections and sloppy craftsman ship that is not present in the Vietnamese set. I hope that is why they are out of stock currently and they are moving the manufacturing back, because I definitely don't trust if I ordered another set they'd be any better."

Overpaid and inflexible return policy

"I placed a $500 order and then received an email for 40% off my next order. I immediately felt that I overpaid $200 and regretted purchasing all (4) 20 piece sets at once. I wanted to add to an existing set. The item I ordered looks exactly the same as what I have by online comparison, but the weight is much lighter so I had to return them. Pay attention, return shipping costs are on you and are expensive - $60. I won’t order again!"

"Great flatware."

Serving pieces to complete the set

"Love this Rockford flatware but need the serving pieces and iced tea spoons to complete the set. If I can't find them I will have to return what I have. Silly me, I thought I could get them straight from Mikasa."

"Love the modern look, nice weight, and big soup spoon!"

Audrey R. (5/5)

Superior quality

"Elegant & stylish. Love that it goes with my everyday dishes or my good China. Bought the settings at Costco so got an amazing price too."
