Not great. The original bowl

"Not great. The original bowl (on right) has considerably more detail and depth. The color looks slightly different as well. But if you've broken a bowl or two what other options do you have? It's better than nothing, right?"

I think you need to

"I think you need to warn customers that this pattern comes in bone china or just plain off white. I ordered these thinking that they would match my Italian Countryside Bone China but they do not!"

Great replacement

"The color and look match the rest of my bowls and dishes perfectly. I’m glad I could purchase the replacement bowl without having to buy a whole set"

Not what it used to be

"I have this whole set and ordered more bowls to increase our count. The color is slightly different, and design in the ones we received is not crisp and clear - it is almost not discernable to the point my wife and I thought they might be fakes. I reached out to customer service, and the response might as well have been "Eh, oh well. ". I work in manufacturing and understand manufacture variances, but this is major - not minor - and some level of care or concern from the company would have been nice. The quality of the product and service was sub-par and that's very sad for such a longstanding company."

It's a pattern I already

"It's a pattern I already had so I simply added stock to my diminished dishes."

Beautiful pattern. Everything was packed

"Beautiful pattern. Everything was packed so well, and all the dishes arrived without any problems."

Color does not match original

"Color does not match original pieces & weight & design are off too. Disappointed"

Crappy quality

"I have had the Italian Countryside dinnerware set for 16 years annd still LOVE it! I have replaced some pieces here and there and it’s been fine. This time ordering, I found the quality and workmanship of the Italian countryside products have changed. The bowls are heavier, darker in color, do not stack well with my originals, and worst of all the design that I love is blurred and not pretty like the originals. Now I have to decide if I’m going to buy a whole new set from another company with higher quality products. I talked to a customer services rep who said they way they are made has been changed. This had not been made clear on the website. I am trying to return them along with other sized bowls and plates I ordered, but no one is getting back to me with a return label or instructions. I already emailed in the requested pictures which I shouldn’t have to do to return products I don’t like. I am very disappointed."

Cheap China Knock-off

"I have a 20 year old Italian countryside dinnerware pattern and I needed to purchase two cereal bowls. I was extremely disappointed in the pattern. The bowls I received looked like a cheap China knock-off. I complained to Mikasa and they said there's always a pattern variation. To me, this was more than a pattern variation, it was poor quality control. With today's precision manufacturing processes it's unacceptable to have this much pattern variation."
