"I have purchased Mikasa Italian Countryside dinnerware and serve ware for years from different stores, without an issue. I recently purchased some plates and serving pieces directly from the Mikasa website to add to my collection. The new pieces do not match! The color is noticeably darker, and the embossed pattern relief is noticeablyn lower and not distinct. I contacted Mikasa customer service by email and included photos showing the variances. In the attached photos the original plate is on the bottom and the new items are above. Customer service answered that there are manufacturing differences but that quality is the same. No - I cannot set a table with these new pieces! It is so very disappointing that this heritage brand has lowered its standards!"
