Buyer Beware! The current iteration
"Buyer Beware! The current iteration of the French Countryside pattern is not the same color or quality as the original which was made in Japan. It is more yellow/cream than the original white, and the glazing technique (said to be up to current standards) leaves a rough surface on the bottom rim so that it does not glide smoothly on your counter but scratches as it moves along. The original glaze covered the bottom rim as the bowl was held up in 3 tiny spots in the top 3rd of the outside of the bowl so the glaze would cover the bottom. I was so very disappointed! I requested prepaid return shipping as these were elements that could not be seen before receiving the product but was denied. My next step would be to report this business to the Better Business Bureau but at this point it is too much effort. The only redeeming quality is that the surface of the glaze appears to be strong, so if color and counter scratching do not matter to you, then you should like this traditionally elegant pattern."

"I'm very disappointed. Two of the first four that came were broken. The bowls I received are very different than the original bowls I have. They are a different color white and the shape is uneven. You cannot stack them along with the original bowls. Can I please exchange them or are they all made differently now?"
