Using the Ciarra china dishes everyday for years
"We love the lightweight and white simple but elegant pattern. With service for 16, we have however that the uniformity of the size of some of the dinner plates is not an exact match with each other most evident when they are cabinet stacked, it becomes quite obvious. Also we have had to replace some bowls due to some mysterious dark gray marks inside. Also, some mugs have developed hairline cracks, most evident after use with coffee. We replaced them and use our set for everyday but lately now for parties as well. Overall we are satisfied but think the ceramic engineers at Mikassa Seikosha can and should do better in the issues mentioned above. QC should be at least 5 sigma."
We had purchased 3 sets
"We had purchased 3 sets of 16 piece Ciara china about a year ago and wanted to supplement with 4 more Ciara dinner plates. The set of 4 that we purchased were larger in size than in the original set. We would have been ok with that, but the new plates were big enough that they do not fit in our standard sized dishwasher."

"These plates are very pretty and lightweight. They did well in the dishwasher and the beauty of white plates is that they go so well with any decor color and as stated they can be treated in a formal setting or casual. They were a really good buy."
I bought the Ciara plates
"I bought the Ciara plates to add to the Ciara set that I bought from Costco. Unfortunately they are not the same. But I still think there nice so I won't send them back."
They are great dinner plates
"They are great dinner plates HOWEVER. . . this is the second set I have of the same pattern and they are different!!! A touch thicker/heavier and the ridges are a bit bigger. It's not a huge difference but when replacing ones I am disappointed ill always be able to tell the new ones from the old ones."
Love these but……
"I love the look of these dishes and the feel of the coffee cups especially. The rim is on the thinner side which I like. One big problem is the circular cracking on some of dinner plates. I bought 4 sets and several needs replacing. Mikasa says it’s an issue when microwaving and the glaze. I didn’t really understand but no replacement was offered. Be careful with the microwave. It seems just the dinner plates are affected. Coffee cups are fine."
