Not the same at allI just received a set of the red berries to fill out what I already had and I’m extremely disappointed. The size, shape, color and weight of the cereal bowls are entirely different. The originals are relatively lightweight with bright red berries against a crisp white background and are naively charming. They weigh 12.1 ounces and measure 5.5 inches across the top edge.
The new bowls weight 16.3 ounces and measure 5.82 inches across the top edge. The berries are a dark maroon against a grayish white background. They are heavy in weight as well as in appearance.
I would never have been tempted by the new Red Berries pattern.

Not quite the same as the originalThe thickness of the pieces is different than the original. The bowls particularly don't stack as well because they are thicker. The plates are still decently thin. The colors are a bit darker than the original

DifferentI bought the 36 piece set to go with what I already had. I was given this set as a wedding present in 2012 but realized this Christmas I didn’t have enough dishes. These are different because the berries are darker, soup bowls are bigger then the original ones I have. I like these new dishes but not in love with them. I may keep them instead of trying to return them.

Gorgeous pattern!I absolutely love the beautiful simplicity of these dishes and get a lot of compliments on them. I bought a large set to replace ones I already had from 10 years ago. Mikasa had stopped selling them for a while, so I was thrilled to see they had been brought back. However, the bowls are not the same as the original set. They are shaped differently, slightly wider, and I do not like the shape as much. I also didn't see the need for the bowls to be bigger. I would still recommend the set, but you need to know the difference if you're trying to match dishes from the previous version. These dishes are so pretty that I use them all the time on holidays, too. The red color of my old dishes does look more faded in comparison to the new ones, so I suspect they have faded from the dishwasher, but they have held up fairly well for a decade's worth of use--well enough that I bought more!
